There have been some important rule changes for Marriage and Family Therapy training. Go to http://www.dopl.utah.gov/laws/R156-60b.pdf to see the changed rules, which took effect December 24, 2007. The new rule for supervision requires that interns work with supervisors who have been licensed for at least 2 years as MFTs and are currently licensed as an MFT in the state in which the training takes place. Beginning January 1, 2009, supervisors must be either AAMFT approved or have taken a supervision training course approved by AAMFT or UAMFT.
